Powerful left over a dead-coral reef just north of Puerto Limon; one of the best Caribbean waves in Costa Rica when a northeast swell arrives.
For intermediate surfers the best months are February, June to July: in July about 20 days have rideable waves and 5 rate good or better. Beginners find the friendliest waves in February, May to July. Experienced surfers looking for size and power: July. Local guides: December-March, plus a shorter July-August window.
