Hyde Park beach just south of Promontory Point, the second Chicago beach where surfing is allowed all year. Like the rest of the city shore it only works when a strong N to NE wind pushes wind swell down Lake Michigan, cleaning up when the wind swings west. Waves are short-period and rarely bigger than head high.
