Long, gentle rights peel off the point between Shoreline Park and the Santa Barbara Harbor, over a sandy beach that turns to rock reef and kelp. The Channel Islands block summer S swells, so it needs a decent W swell in autumn or winter. It is sectiony at low tide and smoother with some water. Bring a longboard and use the channel to paddle out; check the posted water-quality signs after rain.
