Left-hander off the jetty (quebra-mar) at the east end of Barra, beside the Joatinga canal where the lagoon meets the sea. A sandbank against the rocks peels left toward Pepê on S to SE swells, offshore in N wind, best from mid to high tide. Surfers gather here, so the take-off is crowded. Stay clear of the jetty and the canal current; on small days the beach west of it is the easier option.
