Bonete sits on the SW tip of Ilhabela and faces SW, so S groundswell hits it straight on and NE wind is offshore. The draw is the wedging right at Canto Bravo, the western corner, with hollow lefts further along the sand; low to mid tide is best. Getting there takes a 12 to 15 km jungle trail or a boat from the island's south end, so even good winter days stay quiet.
