Quatro Ilhas, on the east side of the Bombinhas peninsula, is a fairly sheltered beach that only breaks now and then. A south or southeast swell with a west to northwest wind, best around high tide, gives fast, powerful rights off the corner. On small swells it is often flat, so check the forecast before driving out. Intermediate surfers should watch the strong rips.
