Palmas, north of Florianópolis in Governador Celso Ramos, only pumps on an east swell, sometimes southeast, so it breaks less often than the island beaches. With a south to west wind early in the morning, 1 to 1.5 m waves turn into fast, powerful barrels over shallow sand; above 2 m the tube is heavy with about 1 m of water under it. It hosted a Catarinense Pro stage in October 2026.
