The southern tip of the island is reached on a 40-minute trail from Caieira da Barra do Sul, and Naufragados only wakes up on a solid south swell of 2 m or more with a north-quadrant wind. Then a heavy right pumps along the rocks toward the beach, with barrels, and holds 2.5 m and over. Few people make the walk. Bring two boards, water and a friend, and be fit: help is far away.
