Guriri is the island beach of São Mateus, 230 km north of Vitória, with open sand facing east. East to southeast swell of 0.5 to 1.5 m gives short, soft peaks both ways, and a west wind keeps them clean; the summer northeast wrecks it. Lifeguard posts run along the seafront. Beginners: paddle out next to a lifeguard post and stay out of the darker channels where water runs back out.
