Sandbars on both sides of the county pier at Padre Balli Park, the best-known break on the Corpus Christi coast. Short-period E to SE windswell is the norm; a front that swings the wind W to NW cleans it up, and any tide works. Hurricanes Harvey and Hanna wrecked the old pier; locals say the bars around the new one are building back.
