Peaks shift along half a mile of white sand at the foot of Ocean Avenue, with the main ones at 4th, 8th and 11th Street. Kelp and the cove keep it glassy when NW wind ruins the open coast, and an incoming tide usually helps. The shorepound hits hard even on medium days, so time the paddle out between sets. Parking at the end of Ocean Avenue fills fast on weekends.
