A semi-permanent sandbar on the north side of the Humboldt Bay entrance jetty breaks 60 to 90 m out and holds up to about triple overhead. The current along the jetty digs a channel for an easy paddle, but the waves themselves are a short, hollow right toward the rocks and a longer bowling left. Surfline and Wannasurf both flag sharks and a local crowd. The last stretch past Samoa Dunes needs 4x4 or a walk.
