What surfers say
- Mixed (2011, US-DPS): A surfer flying from the US to Bali was told by phone that Cathay would charge about USD 600 each way for an over-length board bag, but at the counter a staff member waved the two boards through free, and nothing was charged on the way home either. source
- Smooth (2011): In the same thread, a group flying New York to Indonesia kept each board bag under 50 lb; staff never measured them and the boards went as normal checked bags at no charge. source
