Flying with a surfboard on ITA Airways
Sports fee · up to 300 cm. Fee: Surf or windsurf board 200 to 300 cm: 75 EUR per direction within Italy and Europe (incl. North Africa and Eastern Europe), 200 EUR to the Middle East, India and South America; shortboards are 'small sports equipment' (Europe 75 EUR online, 85 at the airport).

- pay online: the airport price is higher
- the general special-baggage page says max 300 cm total (length + width + height), which conflicts with the surf page's 200 to 300 cm long boards
- over 23 kg also pays excess-weight fees
- pack securely, preferably in rigid packaging
- regional versions of the pages show slightly different fees
- joined Star Alliance on 1 April 2026 (left SkyTeam in 2025)
