What surfers say
- Mixed (2016): On a Gold Coast flight, a parent's own board was fine but a son's board slightly over 190 cm caused a problem at check-in; it was eventually carried. source
- Refused (2014): A traveller heading to Indonesia for four weeks could not check a 6'8" and a 7'4" board on a Jetstar A320, whose limit was then about 1.9 m; he left them at home and planned to buy a board there. source
- Smooth (2014, PER-CGK): A surfer flying Perth to Jakarta on an A320 with a 7 ft board only learned of the length limit after booking, but staff accepted the board in both directions without comment. source
- Mixed (2014): A 7'2" bag holding two boards was over the A320 limit; taping it down got it accepted with a warning that damage was at the owner's risk. It arrived intact, and the same thing happened on the way home. source
- Refused (2011): On a domestic return flight (Sydney / Sunshine Coast), staff refused an 8 ft mini-mal as too long, although the owner had flown longer boards to Bali with Jetstar before (likely on a bigger A330). The passenger abandoned the ticket and flew Virgin instead. source
