Flying with a surfboard on TAAG Angola Airlines
Checked bag or sports fee · up to 330 cm · 32 kg. Fee: Board over 158 cm (SPEQ-LARGE): 40 USD domestic Angola, 140 USD within Africa, 190 USD international to or from Luanda, 210 USD international connecting in Luanda; up to 158 cm: 35, 90, 150 or 170 USD.
Booking: Tell TAAG when you book or at least 24 h before the flight; check-in staff must still approve it
- max 32 kg and 190 x 75 x 65 cm (330 cm total); boards must be in a proper board bag
- a board can replace a bag in your allowance (examples in the policy show a 252 cm longboard doing so), or you pay the fee as an extra piece
- the same policy also says all boards over 158 cm pay the fee, so expect to pay unless TAAG confirms otherwise
- surfboards are exempt from the 158 cm oversize charge
- several boards can share one bag within the limits; the price follows the longest board
- you fill in a Declaration of Transport at check-in; prices are in USD, paid in local currency
