Flying with a surfboard on Volaris
Sports fee · up to 280 cm · 45 kg. Fee: Up to 1,320–1,500 MXN before the trip on Mexican domestic routes (2,160 MXN at the airport); up to 170 USD before the trip on international routes (240 USD at the airport); up to 108 USD within Central America and South–Central America (144 USD at the airport). Prices vary by season.
Booking: Add it in My Trips, by the Call Center or at the airport; cheaper before the day of the flight. At the time of booking it is sold by the Call Center only
- fee covers up to 25 kg and 250 cm total (length + width + height); above that extra charges apply
- nothing over 280 cm total or 45 kg is accepted, so long boards may not fit
- surfboards, windsurf boards and longboards named as accepted
- wrap the whole board in plastic or foam, cover nose and tail well, remove fins or pack them firmly
- Volaris are not liable for damage if the board is badly packed
