Straight city beach on the south side of Maceió, with the best sandbanks around the pier of the sewage outfall (emissário) and on towards Salgema and Pontal da Barra. South to south-east swell with a north-west wind, best at high tide. It is more open to south swell than the reef-sheltered beaches north of the centre, but the water is often polluted: beginners and everyone else should skip it after rain.
