Dune beach north of Natal across the Potengi river, better known for buggy rides than for surf. On north-east to east swell of about a metre it gives soft, long sand-bottom rides, at any tide with a westerly breeze. Few surfers, even at weekends. Beginners can use the small days but should watch the rips that form along the sandbars.
