El Tránsito is a crescent cove at a fishing village close to Managua, where peaks bounce off a few rocks outside the take-off onto a mostly sand bottom. Up to about a metre overhead it gives mellow, medium-length rides; periods over 16 s shut the small bay down. A rock-and-sand point at the south end works on mid-period SSW swell. Beginners do best on waist-high days at mid tide in the middle of the cove.
