A left breaks off the rocks towards the car park at Kleinmond, between Betty's Bay and Hermanus. It needs a clean southwest to south swell and a light north to northwest wind, and runs long when the swell angle is right. A deep channel between the rocks and the wave, popular with anglers, carries a strong rip once the swell passes about 1.5 m. Learners should go elsewhere: the rip and rocks sit right at the takeoff.
