Green Point is a rare true point on the KwaZulu-Natal coast, a right peeling over rock and sand at Clansthal, north of Scottburgh. A quality south swell lines it up for long rides, and the point blocks some of a strong southwest wind; northeast wind ruins it. Low to mid tide is best, and weekends bring the Durban crowd. The beach has no shark nets, so beginners should use netted Scottburgh instead.
