Itaguaré faces SSE and picks up E to S swell over 3 km of sand inside the Restinga de Bertioga State Park. The best wave is the right off the big rocks at the western corner, which gets long at 2 m and over and holds up in light S wind; NNW wind is offshore for the rest of the beach. Intermediate surfers can use the mid-beach sandbars on 1 m days and leave the corner to locals when it is big.
