Enseada is Guarujá's longest beach, 5.5 km of sand in a south-facing bay with sandbars all along. Surfers sit at the canto direito, the right-hand end looking out, under the hill that splits it from Pitangueiras, where sets break harder near the rocks. It needs a solid S to SE swell and cleans up with N to NW wind. Beginners and surf schools use the shallow east part, where waves rarely pass half a metre.
