Tramandaí's fishing platform, at the south end of town, shapes the banks. North of it, peaks both ways turn hollow with a west wind; on the south side the outside right called Malvina runs along the pilings and can open with a square barrel. With no channel, big days are a hard paddle, and fishermen on the pier dislike surfers near their lines. Intermediate surfers should keep clear of the pilings.
