Waves over flat rock and sand on the bend of Avenida Beira-Mar, in front of the Meireles hotels. It needs a fairly straight north swell to get in past the Mucuripe headland, works best at low tide and holds about 2 m. The line-up fills with city surfers and the water is often poor after rain. Beginners should go only on small low-tide days and check the Semace bathing bulletin first.
