Jangada sailboats still land on the sand at this fishing village about 30 km south-east of Fortaleza. Peaks over sand and some rock work on any tide in north to east swell from about 1 m; the south-west breeze is offshore in the early morning, before the trade wind. Wannasurf contributors call it the best beach break in Ceará, and it is rarely crowded. Beginners should keep away from the river mouth current.
