Westbrook, north of Durban near Tongaat, has a sand-bottom right that reels from the rocks, plus beach peaks beside it that are mostly rights. South to southwest swells with a northwest breeze or light southwest wind work best at low tide, and mornings before the wind. The point holds about 2.5 m but gets thick, and the paddle out takes fitness. Beginners should keep to the inside on small, glassy mornings.
