Sand point at the northern tip of the Mussulo spit, across the mouth of Mussulo Bay from Luanda. Boats leave from the jetty below the Sol-y-Mar hotel on the Samba road, about 5 km south of the city, and cross 1 km of fast-flowing channel. The tip only lines up when a very big southwest or west swell wraps in: WannaSurf's author saw nothing over shoulder height in four years, and Surfnerd calls the bank small and weak most of the time. WannaSurf says the crossing is only worth it if you can see waves from the mainland, and that Buraco, further down the spit, is likely better on the same swell.
