Shipwreck surf forecast
Palmeirinhas · Luanda · Angola
Sandbars at Palmeirinhas, where the Mussulo spit starts about 40 km south of Luanda: turn right under the baobabs, follow the track 1 km and take the first left. The peaks are hollow and fast, mostly lefts, with rights on a west swell; WannaSurf rates it for experienced surfers, Surfnerd for intermediates. It picks up plenty of swell, breaks often and starts working at about 1 m. The thermal onshore blows it out by around 10 am, so go at dawn with a northeast wind. The rusting freighter that named it is gone, so the takeoff is hard to find without someone who knows it.
