Guaraú lies 8 km south of Peruíbe at the edge of the Jureia-Itatins ecological station, a sand beach between a rocky headland at the north end and the Guaraú river mouth at the south end. Facing SE, it works on SE to E groundswell with NW wind, has some shelter from S wind and breaks both ways over sand at all tides. Beginners should stay mid-beach, away from the river current and the rocks.
