On the south side of the Mampituba river jetties, at the state line with Santa Catarina, sand banks build peaks both ways that work on southeast and east swell with a northwest to west wind. Waves are mostly fast walls; barrels are rare. It is Torres' most surfed corner, crowded in the week and packed on weekends. Intermediate surfers should keep clear of the jetty, its fishing lines and the boats leaving the river.
