Prainha is the short beach just south of Praia Grande in Torres and has some of the town's best winter waves. It needs southeast to east swell of 1 m or more and a west wind; the sand-and-rock bottom makes it fast. Locals sit on the grass above the beach with chimarrão. Rocks lie among the sand, so intermediate surfers should check the bottom at low tide before paddling out.
