Where the Rio de Contas meets the sea, off the Concha end of town, a long right peels across the sandbank. It needs an east to southeast swell of 1 m or more and a southwest wind; on a low, rising tide rides run several hundred metres. The paddle out takes 20 to 30 minutes and the outgoing river current is strong, so surf it with others.
